Day 7 - Strava, Suffer Score and Faulty Cadence.

February 13, 2013  245.4 lbs.

Today I was to ride as hard as I like for one hour. Due to my slowness getting stuff sorted, I didn't even make it to the bike path until 10:31 pm. I finished the ride at about 11:55 pm. Every workout I do, I log and download. For instance my Garmin Forerunner 910xt heart rate monitor and GPS is my main trainer partner. Every day when I come home from training, I upload the files. I recently started using the Strava website for a slightly different analysis of the data. There one analysis tool on Strava called the "Suffer Score." What a cool name! Here is what it looks like.

The Suffer Score is a numeric value Strava assigns you based on your heart rate during training and designed to show you how hard you worked. Fun stuff! While looking at the different data graphs, I noticed this for Cadence.

I think there is something wrong with my cadence sensor!

For whatever reason, I really like looking at all this data. I'm not an expert by any means, I just enjoy it. As I improve, I should start to see faster times for my mile splits. What are "splits?" Let's say you run 3 miles, your splits would be smaller increments of time. For instance your time for each mile would be your mile splits. Make sense?
It felt good to really crank today during the ride. Chris Hauth, my coach, told me to go as fast as I like. He also suggested I get a calf sleeve for my healing leg.

It's probably too soon, but I have reached out to some vendors of equipment and clothing for sponsorship. If you know of any companies that might like to sponsor me and my journey, please let me know.
Also, please leave a comment and subscribe so I have a better idea of who I'm connecting with here.

Well, that's it for today. I'm tired but happy and still excited.

Tomorrow is an hour swim.
