Day 56 - Personal Records Smash, Dates and Ghost Hockey Players

April 3, 2013           244.4 lbs

Today I had an easy run of fifty five minutes. As usual, I didn't begin until after midnight.

It was kind of misty out. As I stood at the bike patch head trying to set up my daily accountability picture, a dude in full hockey gear came skating out of the fog. He nodded to me and turned around and skated back into the fog again like a ghost. The things I see out there.
The run it's self was pretty uneventful. 5 minute warm up followed by my usual 10 to 1 running and walking formula. Felt good out there. Making sure to concentrate on my technique. I also made sure to push a little more if I felt my cadence slow. I didn't really look at my Garmin Forerunner 910xt that often to see distance or heart rate even. I have alerts set up to tell me if heart rate is to low or to high for zone 2. I didn't hear the alarms so I just went by feel. Finished up with a good sweat!
A funny thing happened when I looked at the data I downloaded from the watch.

I had gotten a Personal Record for not only the mile, mile and a half and two miles but also for the 5k (3.1 miles)! Soon I will remove the walking interval and we will see what I can really do.

I woke up to see two packages on my patio. One a big box of dates.

I buy them in bulk because I eat so many in my morning smoothies. And second a box from TYR. My swim goggles I designed! Man, it seemed like it only took a day to get them. TYR must be in California.

I think they turned out excellent and look exactly like the design I submitted. (See the blog for Day 55 for an image of the design.)
Check this cool option out. You can get your name engraved on the lens! Perfect for those awkward, "Hey those are mine!" "Oh yeah? I don't see your name on it!" moments.

Very happy with them. I'm going to test them out today.

By the way, from the customize page, these are the "Special Ops" style frame. That's it for now, tomorrow is another "brick" workout. Bike and swim. Until tomorrow my friends!
