Day 67 - Murky Day, Chipotle and New Running Distance

April 14, 2013         243 lbs

Today was my last "brick" day before my day off. First up was the swim. Kind of a dreary, dark day. Which meant it was cold outside when I went to swim.

The pool itself had a wintery feel to it.

Still, nothing was going to stop me from doing my 3200 yard swim workout. And so it went.
3200: 400 swim - 200 kick - 200 pull, 800 swim right into a 200 kick, 4x100 pull right into a 200 kick with 5 sec rest and finally, 800 every other 50 catch up or drill.

Chris, (my coach) is putting noticeably longer sets in the workouts now. In this one, there were two 800 yard sets plus the other drills.

I finished the swim and headed home to change and get some food. The wife and I decided to eat out and went for Chipotle. After dinner, I was tired and unmotivated. But I reminded myself that, not training doesn't prepare me for anything. So I had a bowl of cocoa chia seed pudding for energy and headed for Chandler Blvd.

Long and steady Zone 2 run. At the halfway point, I was at the end of the path and figured I was going to be adding two more miles to my farthest, recently of four. Sure enough, after pushing through the last mile and a half, I ended up with 5.9 miles! 1739 calories burned. I'm really tired as I type this, I have passed out about three times. I need that day of rest tomorrow. I will also announce the new sponsor.

Until tomorrow my friends.
