Today was my rest day, however I ended up working from 10:30
am to 2:00 am. Another milestone with my weight loss this morning. I don't know that I will lose any tomorrow as I ate a lot today. It is very important to fuel yourself not only on your training days but also on your recovery days. "Fuel" does not translate to pig out on crap. It means to eat in a way the helps your body rebuild. In a word, healthy. Fortunately for me, The Boss has been making all kinds of raw snacks in the dehydrator for me so I don't binge like a mad man. Including "cheezy" flavored kale chips (no diary is used), a new cracker for eating salsa made from carrot and flax seeds and even some raw cookies. Speaking of, I took some with me on my long ride last Saturday and I have to say, they are an excellent energy food! I had a couple immediately before I rode up on top of the Santa Fe Dam and had plenty of energy to burn. I'm going to get her to make them in a bar shape and take it with me anytime I go out for the long stuff.
Something else to watch out for, especially since we are even closer to summer, is your hydration. When in doubt drink some water. If it's filtered and the ph is balanced, even better. My friend Louis makes a very good, alkaline water called Real Water. Give it a try sometime. And by the way, no I'm not sponsored by them. I'm telling you about it because it's a great product.
I don't know what is happening with the blog here but
the numbers show more page views than ever. Thanks everyone for stopping
by! I'll be back in action tomorrow.
Think I'll have some vegan sherbert. (Frozen mangos and strawberries blended up in the Vitamix.) Until tomorrow my friends.
