Day 93 - Triathlon Lab, Midnight Run and The Best Ice Cream In the World

May 10, 2013      235.8 lbs

Today, I went with my friend Romeo Victor to Triathlon Lab first thing in the morning. Romeo selected all the components of a custom tri-bike and had it assembled. We went to Triathlon Lab so he could get it professionally fitted by Will Mayberry.

I got so caught up watching the process, I forgot to order a wheel for the new trainer. However, I did pick up the new Serfas Thunderbolt series head and taillight. I'll do a review soon but let me just say wow! These things are bright and USB rechargeable. I'm thinking about taking the headlight with me on runs because it will light up a good size area. Might work well for my daily accountability photos. I know it will be good for any after dark riding.

I get a lot of questions about what I eat. So I'm going to start posting a little more examples. This is what I had for lunch after Triathlon Lab.

This is a Mexican themed bowl of black beans, quinoa and grilled vegetables with Pablano peppers and avocado at Cafe Gratitud in Sant Monica, CA.The food was great!

I had a one hour run scheduled for today. One hour with 6x1 minute Zone 3 intervals. I have to say, I was unmotivated for the run as I was dealing with some trouble in my work shop. I just didn't want to do it. However, I realized I had to. I'm trying to break the habit of giving up when things get tough. So despite it all, I ran anyhow.
This is why I may carry my headlight. A bit too dark and blurry. After the run my calves were sore and stiff. I remembered right as I started running that I had failed to wear my calf sleeves!

When I got home, I had some ice cream made with frozen bananas and strawberries. Incredible.

I really doubt I'm going to lose weight tomorrow but we will see.

I shot this video yesterday showing a little of my "brick" workout.

Here is the smoking area I mention in the video. It's kind of sad and haunting to me to think about this period of my life.

But as I said in the video, so much has changed. Until tomorrow my friends.
