Today was a brick day with a 2800 yard swim and a one hour easy run.
For the last couple weeks I haven't had very much or very good sleep. I blame the tiny fuzzy creature sleeping at my feet as I write this. It has the accumulative affect of sapping my energy. When I got up this morning, I was exhausted. As the day went on, I didn't feel anymore energized. Finally, I had to get my swim in so I headed to the pool hoping that the hot weather today hadn't drawn too many people.
The actual workout was:
400 warm up
16x25 - 4xwith 10 sec rest -8x with 5 sec rest - 4x10 sec rest
8x100 steady with 10 sec. rest
3x400 broken: this means after a 200, rest for exactly 10 seconds, then swim the second 200. Rest 45 sec. between each 400.
This particular swim felt really good. My exhale was strong and I felt like I was really flying through the water. Surprising, considering how much I was dreading the workout. A few twenty somethings got in the pool at one point and churned up the water making it like an open water swim.
I finished up and went home for dinner.
