Day 206 - Back on Track!

Today my workout was a four hour Z2 bike ride. I actually didn't get to sleep until 8:00 am. I was determined that I would ride in Arcadia as soon as I woke up.

Then I woke up at 5:00 pm. Dang!!!

Okay so there wasn't enough time to ride in Arcadia but I was still in a very positive mind set. I had a long talk with The Boss about the "stress" of losing weight. Namely, stressing out about not making progress or feeling like I am failing when the numbers don't change.
She suggested that instead of focusing on losing weight, I should try focusing on training only. One way would be by not weighing myself each day. This is something I have considered in the past. Maybe I will.
Anyways, I feel really positive again and determined to begin training with renewed vigor. Heart rate zone training can be ego crushing at times, but it does pay off. Even if it is a very slow process. It works. The gains happen so gradually that you may not even realize what is going on. And it can be frustrating when you feel like no matter how much you train, everyone else passes you! Even people much bigger and much fatter. In my last race, I finished in the top half. Almost the top third. My first few races, I finished almost dead last in my age group. I'm not running significantly faster, but I am able to run much farther and longer. And now that I'm thinking about it, I have gained about three minutes on my time.

So here is what I need to fix immediately in random order:

1. Fix sleep schedule.
2. Drink more water.
3. Get a job.
4. Eat less grains and more raw vegetables.
5. Stop drinking everyday.
