September 13, 2013 No weight this week.
I woke up with a strained muscle in my back. Most likely from wrestling with The Puppy. She is getting bigger and much stronger than expected. When she decides to pull towards something, she generates a lot of torque. Somehow, I was pulling her away from something late last night and "Ouch!" I went to bed right away so I didn't notice it much.
Anyways, as the day went on, it didn't get any better. Great, yesterday rampant diarrhea and today muscle issues!
In an ironic twist, I ended up needing to take The Puppy to the vet. I almost asked the vet for something to ease the stiffness in my lower back!
My workout for the day was:
4x100 left, right, catchup, swim by 25 - 15 sec RI
6x100 steady - 3x with 10 sec rest, 2x with 5 sec rest, 1x FAST
6x75 pull breathing 3,5,7 by 25 - 15 sec RI
6x50 - no breath down, ez back - with 20 sec RI
6x25 perfect fast freestyle with 20 sec rest
200 warm down
I spent most of the day laying on the couch on my side except for the trip to the vet. Looks like I'm out of training for at least a couple days. Hopefully, some of the awesome recovery I'm always harping on will kick in. Until tomorrow my friends.
