Day 224 - Swimming in the Tranquility of Life

September 18, 2013           No weight this week.






Today I had a nice swim. I was pressed for time but get to the pool and had it to myself for the most part. Here is the workout.

3000 yards = Warm-up (500) 500 choice Set #1 (2000) Two times through: 400 build by 100s on :30 rest 2 x 150 (the middle 50 fast) on :20 rest 100 (25 drill/25 swim) on :20 rest 100 FAST 100 easy Rest 1:00 before repeating Set #2 (300) 6 x 50 (25 sprint, 25 easy) on :15 rest - 200 warm down.

My swimming has definitely taken a hit lately but I felt really good and my breathing wasn't to bad either. I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but I picked up this book a few months ago and really liked it for swimming basics. Or swimming 101! The book is called Swim Smooth by Paul Newsome and Adam Young. Great tips and info. Until tomorrow my friends.
