October 7, 2013 No weight this week.
Today I had a big swim. A 2.4 mile big swim!
I got to the pool just before sunset and had it all to my self. Except for one dude who was giving me the old hairy eyeball, the swim was without incident.
A couple of days ago, The Puppy decided to run in the opposite direction at full speed from a standstill, catching me off guard. Anyways, it tweaked my right shoulder with one of those random, "hurts when I do this" pain in the butt boo boo's. Somehow, it didn't bother me too much. When I felt it, I would remind myself that my coach would probably call me a wimp.
Part of the workout included some kick drills which don't show up on the watch and I swam an extra 150 yards when I failed to hit the start button during the last set of drills. Here is the workout:
4150 yards = 400 warm up, 10x50 kick down, free back - 10x75 swim/catchup/swim - 10x100 free pace with 15'sec rest - 10x150 easy/medium/fast by 50 in the 150 with 20 sec. rest between the 150's.
I received a medal from U.S. Road Running for completing my first 10k last August. Pretty cool! Tomorrow I have an interesting ride scheduled, more details later. Until tomorrow my friends.
