Hello everyone! I have been off from training for the last week or so. When I returned from Arizona, I was beat up from everything proceeding it. Namely, the lack of sleep and stress from the job I was working. I decided to take the rest of the week off and attempted to rest. Nope!
So I took my time and enjoyed not having to blog. I got already to return to my regular workouts and blogging again yesterday, when as I was walking out of my bank, I tripped and slammed my arm into the handrail with my full body weight on top of it. SNAP!!! Broken bones have a unique pain that comes with them. Even small, hairline breaks. As soon as it happened, I felt my blood pressure drop and I had to steadily breath to keep from passing out. I made it to the car where I immediately broke out in a cold sweat. After a couple minutes, the feeling passed and I was better. I got home and made an improvised splint out of thermal plastic.
I'm going to need to get a true, ulnar fracture brace though. The temp one is not comfortable enough.
I wrote Chris Hauth, my coach when I was done with the splint. He suggested I might need to simplify my life. Not sure how the break is going to affect training for time being but it will be a pain. I'm still going to train as much as I can!
I want give a shout out to Amy Kopp who donated to my GoFundMe campaign on the day of registration for Ironman Arizona. I didn't see it until I got home. Thank you Amy!
More news tomorrow! Until tomorrow my friends.
