Day 319 - A Quick Run and A Big Fat Drunk!

Today I ran for the first time in several weeks. I went 2.6 miles in 34:54. The idea was to do a warm up short run to ease back into training hardcore. I brought The Puppy along who enjoyed it a lot. She has been cooped up with me except for out hill climbs. I forgot how much I dislike the feeling of cold skin starting to sweat. But after only a few minutes, I felt almost like I never took a break in my training.

Towards the end of the run, my Garmin 910xt showed a message that my footpod had a low battery. The thing is, the warning stayed on screen and I could not figure out how to get rid of it, so I could see my heart rate zone. Kind of annoying as my heart rate tends to drift up at the end of a run. Besides this weirdness, I had a good time with The Puppy and made it back in one piece without any new injuries. A good run!

I realized recently that I have been drinking to the point of it being a problem. So I decided to stop. I came to realize that I was using the alcohol to cope. A very dangerous thing for someone with a highly addictive personality. I'm at over twenty four hours as of now with no booze. Yay me! The drinking was destroying my motivation and frankly, I felt like crap all the time. Finally, I just had enough. So no more.

We've had over 15,000 views at this point and finally had our very first troll. Is it a sign of progress? I don't know. Well, it's really late and I need at least seven hours of sleep as my body is detoxing. Until tomorrow my friends.
