What a day! I got up after two hours of sleep at 4:00 am and drove The Boss to LAX. She is leaving town and me for several days heading to sunny Idaho! I'm just kidding, Idaho is 25°! There was a lot of fog and the airport had warnings about delays.
On the way back from LAX, I almost killed myself taking this stupid picture below! Namely, I looked up just in time to see the road had curved, but I hadn't! Fortunately, my high speed pursuit school reflexes kicked in, in the nick of time.
After prying each finger off the steering wheel when I got home, I made the terrible discovery that I was out of my beloved Skratch Labs! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
As a true modern man, I handled it with complete dignity and aplomb. When I finished crying like a little girl, I got up off the kitchen floor, wiped the tears and snot off my face with the back of my hand and headed off to the first of my two workouts. A one hour ride with 8x30 fast intervals. "Fast, doesn't mean sprint!" to quote my venerable coach Chris Hauth.
Then I slept for a couple hours, woke up and swam:
400 choice -
5x100 50catchup/50 swim with 10sec rest
5x100 steady with 10 sec rest
5x100 steady with 5 sec rest
2x200 pull - breathing 3/5 by 50
I was so tired I forgot to take any darn photos!
I had to remedy the Skratch Labs situation, so I went to H&S Bicycle and had good conversation with Troy about power meters, predicting injuries and losing fat. He also gave me a new Power Bar product to sample. More details to come. Thanks Troy!
