Today I had a long ride scheduled of four hours at z2 heart rate. I had a bit of trouble getting out the door. Partly due to sleeping through my alarm this morning and discovering the battery in my card is dead. I didn't even leave the lights on dang-it!
No time to check it out though, I had to get out to Duarte before I lost the sun. I didn't get to make the rice cakes either, but I did try some new hydration and fueling strategy based on a video I say on Youtube.
I'll post it soon as I think most people don't know some of the info this sports nutritionist discussed.
To sum up, I drank three gulps of water every fifteen minutes and ate a 1/4 cup of dried cranberries, blueberries and raisins every hour I rode. The real difference is made in eating the pre workout fool. Namely, eating 800 calories about five hours before the ride. But I didn't get to do it yet because I over slept. Next time.
I have to mention my new Continental Grand Prix tires as this was the first time I really got to ride them.
The difference in the ride was incredible. If I had any clue what a major change it was, I would have done it sooner! That is, buy new tires. . .
I finished the ride after dark on top of the Santa Fe dam in Duarte, CA.
Well that's it for now. I'm pretty tired from all the days being awake this week. I feel great training again and even though I haven't lost much weight, my body looks like its responding. That is it for now. Until tomorrow my friends.
